Some 1,500 members of the Bicol police, Deona said, will be deployed in Tacloban City on January 17, when the Pope visits Tacloban City.

The members of said task force are from the provincial police offices of Camarines Sur, Camarines Norte, Catanduanes, Masbate, and Albay.

Several of them were among those who were sent to Tacloban City to aid the victims of Typhoon Yolanda in 2012.

Deona's Deputy Regional Director for Operations Police Senior Supt. Romulo Esteban will be heading the task force, which will travel to Tacloban City on January 11 via a convoy of around 28 buses.

This morning, Deona assured the media that the local peace and order situation in Bicol will not be compromised even as police officers are assigned in the aforementioned task force.—BICOLSTANDARD.COM
