Spouses, companion lose P80,000 to holduppers in Masbate City

MASBATE CITY ---A broad daylight robbery incident has been reported here victimizing 3 persons perpetrated by an unidentified armed persons.

Police investigators say that on or about 1:00 in the afternoon, Nestor Briones, 48 years old, businessman; Evelyn Briones, 46 years old, businesswoman; and Jerome Llamas y San Agustin, 19 years old were the victims of the latest wave of criminal incidents in this city.

In the narration made by the victims, they said they were on board a red and black russi tricycle with plate number 8535 EW and body number 0473, when they were attacked by the unidentified suspects.

The same report claims that the victims were travelling from Milagros toward Masbate City.

Upon reaching Barangay Usab, the perpetrators of the crime, who boarded a maroon Kawasaki Bajaj motorcycle without plate number approached them.

The backrider of the said motorcycle immediately fired his gun in an upward direction.

At gunpoint, the victims said the suspected robbers forcibly carted away Evelyn’s shoulder bag containing the following items: P80,000.00 cash, one unit cellular phone (Samsung), and two more cellphones units, with no brand indicated in their report.

Evenlyn was also slapped with the said gun of unknown calibre.

Recovered from the scene of the crime were one live bullet and another empty cartridge case for calibre .45.

There was practically no resistance from the victims of this incident.
