Second quake today jolts parts of Bicol

A second earthquake jolted parts of the Bicol region at today, December 9.



The tremor, which had a magnitude of 4.6, had its epicenter at 12.09°N, 123.97°E - 008 km S 38° E of Palanas, Masbate.

It hit at 5:28 PM, according to the official report of the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS).

It was stronger than the magnitude 3.8 earthquake which was recorded east of Masbate at 6:02 AM.

The quake, which was tectonic in origin, was felt as far away as Albay province.

No damage is expected to arise from the quake.—BICOLSTANDARD.COM
