STANDOFF IN SORSOGON | Governor Lee to Bulan Mayor: Observe rule of law

Mayor Marnellie Robles of Bulan, Sorsogon
BULAN, Sorsogon -- "I am appealing to Bulan Mayor Robles to keep calm. She has to observe and follow the rule of law. Rule of law must prevail."

This was the statement of Governor Raul Lee aired in local radio station WOW Smile Radio this morning.

Last Saturday, he installed Vice Mayor Patricia Lim Guran as Acting Mayor.

In the same interview, he said: "If Mayor Robles will not step down, then Acting Mayor Guran will not go up. Guran will just stay at ground floor."

He also expressed his willingness to intervene and talk to Mayor Robles.

Meanwhile, Councilor Recto Valeriano told the media that the mayor remains steadfast in her decision not to stop down.

However, he said that the Robles camp is open to dialogue.

Meanwhile, supporters of the the Mayor and those calling for her to step down trooped to the Municipal Hall.

Also reported to be within the vicinity of the Municipal are some political personalities like former Mayor Guiming de Castro and Board Member Joey Guban.
