Meet CNorte's, CSur's new Brigade Commander

PILI, Camarines Sur — The 902nd Infantry Brigade of the provinces of Camarines Norte and
Camarines Sur has a new Brigade Commander.

Outgoing Outgoing 902nd Brigade Commander Brigadier General Richard Q Lagrana AFP turned
over his post to Colonel Amador T. Tabuga, Jr. INF (GSC) PA in a ceremony on Monday, December 1, at the Headquarters at Camp Busig-on, Tulay na Lupa, Labo, Camarines Norte.

Major Depayso expressed his gratitude to Brigadier General Lagrana, who rendered invaluable services from February 2012 to December 2014. During his stint, he facilitated the major reduction of capability of the CPP-NPA-NDF (otherwise known as CNN) in Front Committees 71, 72, 73, and 75 of the Bicol Regional Front Committee (BRPC).

Combat operations, though BGen Lagrana resulted to 23 encounters, the discovery of twelve encampments, the recovery of 32 pieces of assorted firearms, and the neutralization of some 54 rebels, including several top personalities. A total of 27 cases were filed, 17 warrants of arrest served, and 10 CNN personalities arrested and detained.

BGen Lagrana also intensified stakeholder engagements to help capacitate local government units through meetings and confidence-building activities.

Under BGen Lagrana’s leadership,  902nd Infantry Brigade was recognized as the Best Brigade of the Philippine Army for the 1st Quarter of CY 2013.

He will be designated as the OJ7 at the General Headquarters of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP).

Meanwhile, Colonel Amador T. Tabuga, Jr. is the former Chief of Unified Command Staff of
WESTMINCOM, AFP.

He started his career in the Armed Forces immediately after his graduation from the Philippine Army in March 1986.

An energetic and seasoned combat officer, he began his profession as platoon leader of 3rd Pltn, Bravo Company, 25IB, 6ID, PA and spent most of his career in Mindanao to where he fearlessly led his troops in their fight against insurgents and lawless elements.

Col. Tabuga underwent civilian and military schooling in an array of disciplines, including the Junior
Officer Close Country Instructional Techniques (JOCCIT) at Land Warfare Center in Australia in April 1996.

His military career has taken him to numerous tours of duty in the different parts of the country. —
