3 Bicol towns under threat of storm surge

At least three towns in the Bicol region were identified by DOST's Project NOAH to be in danger of storm surges due to Typhoon Ruby (international name: Hagupit).

These include Pilar, Sorsogon, and Mobo and Uson in Masbate.

These towns, along with 48 other areas, were identified in today's official advisory as well as Project NOAH's storm surge simulation model.

In Pilar, Sorsogon, the storm surge may reach 1.57 – 2.57 meters. Meanwhile in Mobo and Uson towns in Masbate, storm surges with a height between 1.56 – 2.56 meters are expected.

Meanwhile, PAGASA’s general warning is that all areas under signal 3 may experience possible occurrence of 3-4 meter storm surges.--BICOLSTANDARD.COM
