NAGA CITY--Bicolano singing sensation Mark Avila joins apl.d.ap's team and advances to the next round in ABS-CBN's "The Voice of the Philippines".
The 20-year-old Nagueño wowed the the audience with his rendition of "Ordinary People" by John Legend during the reality show's blind auditions.
Such was the Bicolano crooner's impact that his name "Mark Avila" trended worldwide in Twitter.
Born on October 24, 1994, Avila is a Civil Engineering student at the Ateneo de Naga University.
Has was catapulted to local celebrity status after winning a pageant. He frequently performs in events in this city. His songs are also played by radio stations here.
In an interview, Avila said that he dreams to fulfill his mother's dream of becoming a professional singer. His mother, he shared, used to be a member of a band.
After his successful performance, Avila immediately expressed his gratitude to his supporters through his Facebook Account, saying:
Good eve po sainyong lahat! God is so good! Thank you sa lahat ng naniniwala sa kakayahan ko.
