Landmine recovered after Army, NPA clash in Albay

CAMP GUILLERMO NAKAR, Lucena City - An improvised landmine was recovered after a squad of soldiers of the 2nd Infantry Battalion on combat patrol clashed with five NPAs in Barangay Bololo, Guinobatan, Albay at 6:40a.m. today, November 30.
No one among the soldiers was reportedly hurt during the firefight that lasted for five minutes.
NPAs withdrew afterwards.
Lt. Col. Perfecto PeƱaredondo, Commanding Officer of the 2nd Infantry Battalion deployed other troops for pursuit operations.
The NPAs have been employing the use landmine which is prohibited by the Geneva Convention and the Comprehensive Agreement for Respect to Human Rights and International Humanitarian Law. (PIO SOLCOM)
