Bicolano billiard player triumphs in All-Japan Championship

SIPOCOT, Camarines Sur-- Raymund Faraon, a Bicolano shooter, etched his name in the international billiard scene when he conquered the prestigious 47th All-Japan Championship.

On Monday night, he bested Japanese shooter Naoyuki Oi 11-4 in the final match held at the Archaic Hotel in Amagasaki, Japan.

Said Japanese tournament is considered a major tournament and is recognized as one of the longest-running pocket billiards competitions.

Other Filipinos who have achieved the same feat as Faraon are Efren Reyes, Francisco Bustamante, and Nikoy Lining.

Apart from winning this tournament, the 26-year-old cue artist also finished in the last 16 of the world 9 Ball championship.

Faraon hails from Barangay Impig, Sipocot Camarines Sur.

According to his Facebook Account, he studied at the Sacred Heart High School and the Lyceum College of Subic Bay in Olongapo City.
