The 32-year-old resident of Barangay Valencia, Virac, Catanduanes, was apprehended yesterday morning by virtue of a search warrant after 15 sachets of a substance believed to be shabu, along with other drug paraphernalia, were found in her possession.

"Sayang," one Facebook user said, pointing out that Sarmiento's looks could fool anyone into thinking she were incapable of being a drug pusher.

Meanwhile another opined that she deserved to be jailed because of what she did.

Sarmiento, who is a denizen of the streets of Gigmoto, Virac, and Baras, has long been suspected by the authorities as among those involved in drug use and trade in the island province.

Police Senior Inspector Connie De Leon, Chief of Police of Virac Municipal Police Station said that as of this afternoon, Sarmiento is detained  while awaiting court proceedings.

A case for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 will be filed directy in court against the suspect after inquest proceedings conclude this afternoon, De Leon added.—BICOLSTANDARD.PH
