(Updated) Suspect in Virac child slay charged

A complaint for Kidnapping for Ransom with Murder has been filed against Cecilio Paredes y Reantorco, the primary suspect in the case involving slain 8-year-old pupil Sear Andrie Agripa.

This was confirmed by Police Senior Inspector Connie de Leon, Chief of Police of the Virac Municipal Police Station (MPS).

Paredes, who was identified as a 41-year-old salesman from Barangay Pawa, Legazpi City, continues to be under the custody of the Virac MPS prior to his commitment to the BJMP.

Meanwhile, the body of the victim was examined at the Eastern Bicol Medical Center by Dr. Arlyn Arcilla, Virac Municipal Health Officer. The cause of death is yet to be determined, the police said.
