Anti-crime group files plunder raps vs. Purisima

MANILA—Bicolano anti-crime crusader Dante Jimenez of the group Volunteers Against Crime and Corruption (VACC) filed charges for plunder, indirect bribery, and the administrative offenses of dishonesty, grave misconduct, among others, against Philippine National Police Director General Alan Purisima at the Office of the Ombudsman today.

The case involves Purisima’s alleged San Leonardo, Nueva Ecija property that he jointly owns with his wife.

Earlier, VACC released a statement saying that Purisima should resign after controversies involving PNP officials surfaced recently.

The group further maintained that President Benigno Aquino III must be also be held accountable if Purisima is proven guilty of plunder.

Purisima arrived in the Philippines last night after attending an anti-kidnapping and anti-extortion conference in Colombia.—BICOLSTANDARD.COM
