NAGA CITY—Two people who had been looking for their animals perished as Typhoon Mario battered Camarines Sur yesterday.
One victim was identified as former Barangay Kagawad Eduardo Lelis y Rivera, 60 years old, married, and a resident of Fabricante St., South Centro, Sipocot.
According to the police, Lelis went out of his residence around midnight yesterday to check on his horse. However, a flash flood came his way, drowning him.
His body was found underwater by rescuers, the police added.
Meanwhile, in Ragay town, 61-year-old Conrado Bergonio y Buban, a resident of Barangay Amomokpok, was found lifeless by the river by residents of Sitio Cauhagan, Barangay Apad.
Bergonio is believed to have lost his life in a flood, as well.
The victim, according to the initial nvestigation, left his residence on September 18 to find his missing carabao.
Both the Sipocot and Ragay Municipal Police Stations have announced that they are still conducting a follow-up investigation on the incidents.—BICOLSTANDARD.COM
