Son of Masbate ex-Vice Gov Legaspi shot dead

MASBATE CITY—The son of former vice governor Legaspi was shot dead last night at around 1:50 AM at Hums Cup Coffee Shop at Quezon St., Barangay F. Magallanes, this city.

Enrico Amante Legaspi, the victim, was allegedly shot in the chest by suspect Arnel Rovera Layson, a resident of Barangay Valencia, Quezon City.

The initial investigation indicates that Legaspi was able to return fire as his companions tried to pacify the suspect.

Both the victim and the suspect died in the incident.

According to the Masbate police, the motive is yet to be determined. Investigation relative to the shooting is still being conducted as of press time.

It will be recalled that in 2003, Legaspi was injured after he was shot by Sangguniang Kabataan president John Mark Vicio of Mobo, Masbate.—BICOLSTANDARD.COM
