Grandpa hacks senior citizen

SAN JOSE, Camarines Sur—A 66-year old grandfather sustained an injury on his face when he was hacked due to a misunderstanding in the use of a common pathwalk in their community.

The victim was identified as Apolonio Bonion y Zape, married, while the suspect, Domingo Rodriguez y Leonida, is 79 years old.

The investigation report revealed that Bonion initially challenged Rodriguez to a fight while the former was allegedly under the influence of liquor. He was also armed with a bolo, a rattan stick and a sling shot.

It was the victim who attacked the suspect first with the use of the rattan stick.

The suspect was able to parry the victim’s several attempts to hit him with the stick.

To defend himself, the suspect retaliated by striking a blow with his bolo. It hit the victim on the face, causing the injury.

The quarrel was only pacified when Ronilo Albonia y Villacrusis interfered by taking away their bolos.

The victim was brought to the nearby hospital by his daughter, but was later transferred to the City of Naga for medical attention.

The suspect was apprehended by the members of the Barangay Tanod. He was later turned over to the police station here.

This incident happened in Barangay Bacolod.

Both of the persons involved are residents of Barangay Ponglon, this town.—BICOLSTANDARD.COM BICOL NEWS
