2 kids hit by van in Camarines Sur

SAN FERNANDO, CAMARINES SUR—Two grade 1 pupils, both 7 years old, were accidentally hit by a UV Express van at around 5:30 in the afternoon yesterday as they were crossing Maharlika Highway along Barangay Bonifacio in this town.

The victims, who sustained injuries on various parts of their bodies, were brought to the Bicol Medical Center in Naga City for treatment.

The driver of the van was identified as Cesar Ramirez y Sierra, 57, married, and a resident of Bagumbayan St., Libmanan, Camarines Sur, the police said.

The authorities are now preparing the appropriate charges against Ramirez, who is currently under the custody of San Fernando Municipal Police Station.—BICOLSTANDARD.COM
