Bicolano wins silver in international judo tourney

VIRAC, CATANDUANES – A native of Palnab del Sur, this town, bagged a silver medal at the 2014 Macau International Cadets and Junior Judo Tournament at Pavilhao Polidesportivo Tap Seac, Macau over the weekend.

Ryan Christian Benavidez, 13 years old, won in the Boys 55 kilograms and under Division in the Juvenile Event.

Benavidez is expected to compete in his second international tournament in Hong Kong in December. In the Philippines, he will also compete in the Batang Pinoy Games.

Meanwhile, the rest of Philippine contingent won 1 gold, 5 silvers, and 6 bronze medals.

Among the other winners from the Philippines are Sean Levyn Panganiban, Miam Salvador, Beatriz Isabel Que, Charizze Happy Panganiban, Sri Anabo, Maria Angelie Gerena, Dianne Bargo, Dylwynn Keith Gimena, Mary Jhealyn Villena, Almer Suga, Kevin Lois Tiongson, and Luis Benigno Agustin.
