Iriga City Singing Ambassadors notch 3 golds in int'l singing tilt

The Iriga City Singing Ambassadors won three gold medals in the 8th World Choir Games in Riga, Latvia over the weekend.

The group, which is headed by Cris Caryl Baesa Yu , topped the folklore, pop, and mixed chamber categories. Said group competed against some 500 chorale groups from almost 60 countries around the globe.

Apart from the Iriga City Singing Ambassadors, the other Filipino groups which took home prizes are the Miriam College High School Glee Club, headed by Nancy Roman, and the Ateneo Chamber Singers, headed by Jonathan Velasco.

In sum, the Philippine contingent will bring home a category winner trophy, six gold medals, and a gold diploma.—BICOLSTANDARD.COM
