Man hacked in Baleno, Masbate

BALENO, MASBATE – A misunderstanding between two farmers led to a hacking incident which resulted in a serious injury here.

Investigators said that the crime occurred in from of the house of the victim, identified as Jesus Quijano y Franco, of legal age and a resident of Barangay Magdalena, this town.

It was reported by PO3 Ruel A. Caballero, who conducted the investigation of this case that the suspect, Diogenes Cortes y Galvan, 51, went to the house of the victim.

A heated discussion ensued that resulted to the hacking incident, which caused the neck injury of Quijano.

The police report also shows that the suspect was armed with a bolo when he went to the house of the victim.

The victim was rushed to the Masbate Provincial Hospital in Masbate City for treatment.

The suspect was apprehended by Estelo Magallanes, the Chief Tanod of Barangay Magallanes, together with Ryan de la Rosa y Laurio, a barangay tanod of the same barangay.

The report also reveals that a previous misunderstanding was the cause of the hacking incident.—BICOLSTANDARD.COM
