2 Virac cops test positive for shabu

VIRAC, CATANDUANES—Two elements of the Virac Municipal Police Station tested positive for metamphetamine metabolite, believed to be due to the use of prohibited substance metamphetamine hydrochloride or shabu.

They were identified as PO3 Rey D. Gualberto and PO1 Beebson O. Boragay.

According to the report, all personnel of the Virac Municipal Police Station were subjected to a drug test last May 21. They were directed to submit their urine sample to the Provincial Crime Laboratory Office team led by Forensic Chemist and Provincial Officer for Screening Test PCI Josephine Macura Clemen.

The two police officers were notified of the result of the screening test. They were also disarmed and informed that they may contest the reliability of the results within fifteen days.


Meanwhile, the Catanduanes Provincial Police Office has requested for the administrative relief of both personnel. A confirmatory test for the filing of the appropriate administrative charge against them will also be conducted.—BICOLSTANDARD.COM
