Retired cop survives gunshot in Daraga

DARAGA, ALBAY—A retired member of the Philippine National Police was shot by two unidentified persons at about 9 PM on May 31.

The victim was identified as Ely Cadag, Sr. y Monforte, 51 years old, married, and a resident of this town.

The report indicates that the victim was taking a walk outside his residence when the suspects, who were on board a motorcycle, fired at him.

The victim was hit on the upper part of his chest.

Elements of Daraga Municipal Police Station immediately rushed to the location after receiving a report from the victim’s son. They brought the victim to Aquinas Hospital in Legazpi City for treatment.

Meanwhile, the suspects allegedly fled towards the direction of Brgy. Dinoronan in this town.

The victim, who is recovering from the gunshot, said that he would be able to identify the suspects if he sees them again.—BICOLSTANDARD.COM
