NPA admits killing of Sorsogon PDEA agent

SORSOGON CITYThe Celso Minguez Command of the New People’s Army (NPA) claims responsibility over the death of Sorsogon PDEA agent Arnel Estrallado.

Estrallado was killed last March 22 in Barangay Tugos, Sorsogon City.

In a statement issued by Spokesperson Samuel Guerrero, it is said that Estrallado was sentenced to death for being the protector of several drug pushers operating within and outside of the province of Sorsogon.

According to the statement, Estrallado used his position as chief of PDEA and his strong connections with the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) and the Philippine National Police (PNP) in order to protect members of the drug syndicates.

In instances when PDEA agents in Sorsogon would confiscate drugs, Estrallado would lead the selling of the prohibited substances to drug users, the statement says.

“May this serve as a stern warning to others who are involved in illegal drugs. Drug pushing is a grave crime against the revolutionary law and justice,” the statement added.

Meanwhile, the PNP says that they have now in their custody two suspects who are believed to be involved in the killing of Estrallado. They are undergoing investigation as of presstime, reports say.BICOLSTANDARD.COM
