Local artists gather for Naga River Sketchwalk

The Naga River sketchwalk is part of a series of similar activities initiated by SOLARA, a local group composed mostly of visual artists. The river sketchwalk, dubbed "Iraya/Ilawod: Streams of Consciousness," is the first of a series of art events designed to bring greater awareness to the the existing sub-cultures that define the life and times of the city.

The Iraya/Ilawod: Streams of Consciousness sketchwalk has two parts. The first part is the Iraya (upstream) leg which traces a riverine path from the Danlogan part at the Tabuco-Dinaga area, passes through the San Francisco and Penafrancia riverbanks, and ends at the Penafrancia Church, was conducted last March 1, 2014. The second leg is the Ilawod (downstream) leg which begins at the Penafrancia Church, passes through the Dayangdang-Lerma river banks, and ends at the Danlogan area. (by Dennis Gonzaga)
