Taking his job to heart: PDA Cam Sur prexy leads health kit distribution

Dr. Jessie R. Albeus, PDA Camarines Sur President, and Bicol Standard dental care columnist, is leading the activity this afternoon at Sta. Cruz Elementary School.

Apart from the dental hygiene kit, the team will hand out sachets of the anti-pediculosis shampoo, Licealiz.

According to Albeus, the hygiene products are sponsored by ACS and Lamoiyan. ACS is the maker of Unique toothpaste while Lamoiyan is the company behind Hapee toothpaste and Licealiz shampoo.

Continued efforts

The health kit distribution this afternoon is but part of the series of activities that PDA Camarines Sur, under Albeus’ leadership, spearheads.

Just last month, the organization gave toothbrushes and tubes of toothpaste to 467 pupils of Triangulo Elementary School.

Last August, some 500 kids from Tabuco Elementary School were also beneficiaries of said kits.

Albeus even goes as far as tapping into his other affiliations to further his dental health campaign.

As president of the Ateneo de Naga Alumni Association, he joins "Arroz Caldo ni San Ignacio," the organization's weekly feeding program at the Plaza Quince Martires.

There, he stresses the importance of dental health, as his team distributes health kits to underprivileged children.

Humility

Despite these achievements, however, Albeus remains modest.

“I am just doing my duties as president of PDA Camarines Sur,” he reveals in an interview with BICOL STANDARD. “My position as president of PDA in the province is not a mere decoration. Thus, I should not do less than what my job mandates,” he adds.

In the end, he hopes that his passion will move others to do their duties, and if possible, even go beyond what is required.
