Naga City observes Fire Prevention Month

Mayor John Bongat of Naga City joined the members of Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) during the beginning of the observation of Fire Prevention Month yesterday, March 1.

This year marks the 48th Fire Prevention Month. Its theme is "Isulong ang kaunlaran, sunog ay iwasan, kaalaman at pag-iingat ang kailangan."

The Philippines started observing Fire Prevention Month in 1967, when former President Ferdinand Marcos issued Proclamation No. 115-A which devoted each month to a particular aspect of safety and accident prevention.

In the said proclamation, January is for designated as general orientation month, February is for air
transportation, April is for vacation hazards, May is for land transportation, June is for sea transportation, July is for schools, August is for farms, September is for health and sanitation, October is for industry and commerce, November is for homes, and December is for holiday hazards.
