Motorcycle carnappers apprehended

NAGA CITYThe strings of motorcycle carnapping here and in nearby towns may finally be lessened after police apprehended several suspected hardliners of this criminal activity.

After a long surveillance operation and gathering of tips from informants, joint elements of Naga City Police Office and Bula Municipal Police Station tracked the location of a number of reportedly carnapped motorcycles, along with several disassembled parts.

The initial investigation reveals that many of said motorcyles are stolen in Naga City, and later brought to Iriga City and Ocampo, where the vehicles, or their parts, are resold. In one case, some of the disassembled parts were found in a repair shop.

Among those who were arrested during the joint operation were Gervin Julieta y Era, of 85 Sitio Portico, Barangay Fabrica, Bula; Miller Julieta y Arroyo, of the same address; Alvin Magistrado y Alferis, of Zone 2, Barangay Fabrica, Bula; Arjay Jacinto, of Barangay Fabrica, Bula; Levi Mayo y Oroa, of San Ramon, Iriga City; Rico Praxides y Lagatic, of Sta. Isabel, Iriga City; Reynaldo Isaac y Beatriz, of Sta. Isabel Iriga City; and Vicente Guirela y Ramos, of San Ramon, Iriga City.

Said suspects are now under the custody of the City Investigation and Detective Management Branch (CIDMB) of the Naga City Police Office. (With report from Oscar Esmenda)
