Masbate City village chief, mother shot dead; 2 others hurt

MASBATE CITY—Elements of the Masbate City police are still conducting an investigation to determine the motive of the massacre of a village chief and his family in Sitio Buyog, Barangay Igang late last night.

Reports indicate that at around 10:30 in the evening, three unidentified armed men barged into the house of punong barangay Allan Marcos y Nuñez and began firing at him and his family.

Purita  Marcos  y  Nuñez, the punong barangay's mother, was killed on the spot, while the village chief, his wife Analyn  Marcos  y Mitra and Alily Marcos y Nuñez sustained multiple gunshot wounds.

Said victims were rushed to Masbate Provincial Hospital, where punong barangay Marcos was declared dead on arrival.


Police Chief Inspector Edwin C Adora, Officer­In­Charge Masbate City Police Station announced that a police team tasked to identify the suspects and to uncover their motive has already been formed.
