RD Deona gifts Malinao gradeschoolers with pedicab

MALINAO, ALBAY—In this town, one act of kindness inspires another.
Tatay Irving, Jennielyn, and Clarisse Bonaobra try out their new pedicab, a gift from PNP Bicol Regional Director Victor P. Deona, for the very first time. Tatay Irving, Clarisse, and Jennielyn Bonaobra, who were previously featured in this newspaper after the cops of Malinao Municipal Police Station discovered that the children were doing their homework by the light of streetlamps, are now the recipients of a pedicab from Philippine National Police Regional Director Victor P. Deona.

Earlier, they were gifted with a rechargeable lamp by elements of the Malinao Municipal Police Station, who took the initiative to solicit money from residents of the community.

The lamp, according to Police Senior Inspector Arthur R. Gomez, Officer-in-Charge of PNP Malinao, would allow the children to study right inside their own home, instead of having to go outside at night.

This time, the pedicab would help Tatay Irving earn extra income for the family.

The Bonaobra family's new pedicab bears the names of Tatay Irving's two precious daughters.

As Tatay Irving takes the vehicle for a test ride, Clarisse and Jennielyn make themselves comfortable on the passenger seat.

The padyak proudly bears their names, the two children whose burning passion for learning and life continues to move Bicolanos to do good.—BICOLSTANDARD.COM
