7 captured for illegal logging in Cam Sur

CAMARINES SUR—Police operatives in this province apprehended seven persons yesterday for alleged violation of the law on illegal logging.

Two of the suspects are from the town of Ragay, two from Pasacao, and two from Bato, and one from Polangui, Albay.

According to the report, said suspects could not show to the authorities the necessary permit from the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR).

The suspects were identified as Romeo Reyes y Bolivar of Ragay; Roderick Entigo y Magalona of Ragay; Nestor Paligutan y Bersamira of Pamplona; Jessie Dacian y Necerio of Pamplona; Antonio Segarra y Saulon of Brgy. San Miguel, Bato; and Roberto Noda y Asanza, of Barangay Agos, Bato; and Wardin Ablan y Sandrino, of Matacon, Polangui, Albay.

Among the items that the police confiscated from the suspects were slabs of acacia and coconut lumber.

At present, the suspects are under the custody of the Ragay, Pasacao, and Bato Municipal Police Stations.
