The reports say that the Atty. Sixto Comia, head of NBI Environmental Crime Division (ENCD), issued a subpoena to Board Members Erwin Lausin and Michael Canlas to appear before the Office of the ENCD. Comia added that if they wish, they may bring with them lawyers for assistance during the questioning.

Meanwhile, the other board members are scheduled to appear on different dates.

Board Member Pamela Pardo Pujalte, however, clarified that she will not appear before the NBI,
because she was not a member of the SP when Bohai Top International, the mine in question, started its operations.

Earlier, the Board Members passed a resolution seeking the date of the investigation to be moved to March 17, 2014, because the current date coincides with a meeting of the League of Provincial Board Members of the Philippines.
