CamSur media dare Kalikasan head Mabulo: put up or shut up

NAGA CITY—Members of the local media treated as a bluff the threat of Fermin Mabulo, the alleged head of the controversial Task Force Sagip Kalikasan, to file a lawsuit against the members of the media who reported about the massacre of four gold panners in Barangay Gata, Caramoan, Camarines Sur.

In his Facebook post, Mabulo said: “Evidence are now at hand for lawsuit i am filing against irresponsible media practicioners who in their commentaries have accused, tried and convicted my person.”

In the meantime, upon learning of the said threat, broadcasters and other media personalities just laughed it off defiantly, branding the same as a means of persecuting them to cow them into silence on the massacre issue.

This reaction came from the group of media practitioners who joined the group of PNP Regional Director Victor Deona and Asst. Regional Director Atty. Tomas Enrile who conducted an ocular investigation at the scene of the crime in Lahuy Island.—BICOLSTANDARD.COM
