Fuentebella, who is the mayor of Tigaon, said that there is a strong urgency for the issue to be elevated to the national officials to ensure that justice will be served soonest to the victims of the crime.

"We have requested DOJ Manila to take over the prosecution," Fuentebella said in an interview by BICOL STANDARD.

"It's about time that we put a stop to the abuses of the notorious Task Force Sagip Kalikasan, which has been pestering our residents," he added.

It will be recalled that last year, the same group of armed men identified with the Task Force Sagip Kalikasan allegedly terrorized residents of Sagnay town.

Meanwhile, this is not the first time that names of members of Task Force Sagip Kalikasan were linked to criminal activities in the province. The latest of these involves incidents in Calabanga and Camaligan, where unlicensed firearms were confiscated from the apprehended suspects.BICOLSTANDARD.COM
