4 nabbed for cutting pili tree

SAN JOSE, CSURFour men were arrested in this town for illegally cutting down a pili tree.

The suspects were Andres Caballero y Roxas, 43, of San Isidro West, Goa; Jesus Delfino y Prado, 55, of San Isidro West, Goa; Larry Barcenilla y Rodriguez, 38, of Brgy. Bagacay, San Jose; and Rodolfo Bibaro y Mendez, 47, of Brgy. Danlog, San Jose.

All four were caught in the act of cutting down the tree without the necessary permits by elements of San Jose Municipal Police Station.

The authorities confiscated from the group a chainsaw with a tampered serial number, and the lumber from the illegally-cut tree.

A complaint for the violation of the Forestry Reform Code and the Chainsaw Act are now being prepared by the police.BICOLSTANDARD.COM
