“There is no major disruption in the school calendar,” said Dr. Blanca D. Rempillo, principal of Sorsogon National High School, in an interview with BICOL STANDARD this morning.

The main building of Sorsogon National High School, it will be recalled, was gutted by fire over the weekend.

The fire, which lasted for about three hours, razed the office of records, library, cashier, accounting office, and principal’s office, among others.

The incident alarmed many of its students, particularly those who will graduate this March.

Rempillo, however, assured students, that their teachers will be able to reconstruct the grades of most students from the twelve sections of the graduating class from the records that the teachers keep.

Meanwhile, the classes of the third and fourth year students will be accommodated in shifts in the school’s annex building.

The problem, said the principal, is with the records of those who studied in the school since 1941.

Said records were housed in the building which burned down.

Rempillo already called for a meeting with the school staff to discuss these measures earlier this morning.
