Metrobank Foundation launches search for best cops

The Metrobank Foundation, Rotary Club of New Manila East and PSBank have formally opened nominations for 2014 Search for the Country’s Outstanding Police Officers in Service (COPS) in a recent Memorandum of Agreement signing at Camp Crame, Quezon City led by PNP Chief, PDGen. Alan Purisima, Metrobank Foundation president Aniceto Sobrepeña, Rotary Club of New Manila East president Fausto Manlapaz and PSBank Chief Finance Officer Perfecto Dimayuga.

The Search honors exemplary members of the Philippine National Police (PNP) who actively engage the community both in crime prevention and solution. For more than a decade, the Search for COPS honors model of professionalism, competence, and integrity of the members of the PNP.

“The COPS Award recognizes the dedication, sacrifice and gallantry of the men and women in uniform. This is our social contract to advance the welfare of our police officers and contribution in the strengthening of our nation’s criminal justice system”, Metrobank Foundation president Aniceto M. Sobrepeña said.

PNP Chief Director General Alan LM Purisima expressed his full support to the competition as it enhances the moral and welfare of the members of the PNP. “It is heartwarming to note that the community recognizes the work of the PNP”, expressed PDGen. Purisima.

From P300,000 last year, each of the ten awardees of the 2014 Search for COPS will receive P400,000.00 increased cash prize, COPS Trophy, Metrobank Foundation Medallion and a Plaque of Merit from the PNP.

The competition is open to all Police Officers who have been in the service for at least seven (7) consecutive years by the time of the deadline of nomination. Police Officers who hold the rank of Senior Superintendent are now eligible to join the Search.

COPS is a nationwide search that honors the career achievements of gallant police officers of the country who actively mobilized, involved and organized the community to become fellow vanguards of peace and order.
