Suspected illegal recruiter nabbed in Iriga City

A suspect in an illegal recruitment in large scale case has fallen into the hands of authorities.

Police identified the suspect as Nida Mejorado y Mirasol, 47 years old, married, and a resident of Brgy. Santiago Young, Nabua, Camarines Sur.

Mejorado was arrested at 10:30 in the morning the other day at the Hall of Justice in Iriga City where she was due to attend a hearing for another criminal charge.

The suspect was collared by force of a warrant of arrest issued by Hon. Judge Lore R. Valencia-Bagalacsa of Regional Trial Court (RTC) Libamanan Camarines Sur under Criminal Case No. L-1935 dated Auggust 11, 1997.

No bail is being recommended for Mejorado.

Illegal recruitment is deemed committed in large scale if committed against three (3) or more persons individually or as a group.

Said offense, which constitutes economic sabotage, is punishable by life imprisonment.

The arresting team led by PO3 Edgar Mulleda has turned over the custody of Mejorado to the Libmanan Municipal Police.
