The Sorsogon City Police Station has already filed a case against the lone suspect in the Angela Artita killing.

Sorsogon City Chief of Police Supt. Arni Oliquiano, in an interview with media today, announced that Roderick Diesta is now facing charges of rape with homicide in connection with the killing of the 16-year-old student of St. Louise de Marillac College.

BREAKING: Suspect in Artita killing falls into hands of police

Diesta, a 33-year-old tricycle driver from Barangay Balete, Bacon, was tagged as the suspect in the case based on reports of individuals who claimed to be eyewitnesses.

On February 3, Diesta's relatives, who had been in contact with the police, said that they are willing to cooperate with the authorities.

Diesta, by that time, was said to have already gone to Manila.

The family reportedly travelled to where Diesta was staying to convince him to surrender.

The family succeeded, and as of this morning, the suspect is now under the custody of the Sorsogon City Police.
