Albay to release tourism guidebook

In its efforts to promote tourism and better the tourism experience of Albay tourists, the Provincial Government of Albay through the Provincial Tourism and Cultural Affairs Office (PTCAO) is set to launch the “Guidebook for Albay Tourist Guides,” a comprehensive book on the various tourist destinations that can be found in Albay.

An essential aid for tourist guides in the public and private sector, the guidebook is divided into three categories, namely, the Green Zone, which features the ecological wonders of the province; the Colonial Road, which showcases the cultural heritage of Albay; and the Silk Road, the destinations for the amazing products that the Province of Albay is known for.

To further bolster the knowledge and tourism skills of the local tour guides, the PTCAO shall conduct a Tour Guide Seminar on March 4-7, 2014 starting at 9:00 am at the People’s Hall inside the Provincial Capitol of Albay.

In her letter to the City and Municipal Mayors of Albay, Provincial Tourism Officer Dorothy Colle said the guidebook aims to provide assistance to tourist guides in disseminating consistent, accurate, sufficient information about the tourist destinations, natural assets and cultural heritage of Albay.

Invited to the seminar are the different city and municipal tourism officers from around the Province of Albay and various tour guides from local private tour operators. (PTCAO Albay)
