3 brothers nabbed for drugs in Masbate City

CAMP GEN. SIMEON A. OLA, Legazpi City -– Three brothers were arrested by joint operatives of the Masbate Provincial Police Office, Masbate City Police Office, Regional Intelligence Division 5 and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) 5 in a raid conducted at Barangay Ibingay, Masbate City, on Sunday afternoon.

A police report identified the suspects as Anthony, 27, alias Toni; Tristan, 30, alias Biboy; and Alex, 22, alias Patoy -- all surnamed Villanueva and residents of the village.

The report said the raid was conducted at about 2:30 p.m. against the three brothers who were reportedly known drug pushers in the Masbate City.

The authorities were armed with Warrant of Arrest No. 2014-1 for violation of RA 9165, or Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act, issued by Judge Maximino R. Ables of Regional Trial Court Branch 47 of Masbate City.

Recovered from the Villanuevas were five plastic sachets of suspected shabu, P5,240 cash, a cellphone, a .22-caliber pistol, bullets and drug paraphernalia.

Police said Anthony and Tristan are No. 2 and No. 3, respectively, in the drug watch list of the city.

The three were brought to the MCPO for the filing of appropriate charges.(PNA) FFC/FGS/EMC/CBD
