Catanduanes tightens security at Palarong Bicol

VIRAC, CATANDUANES - Provincial Governor Aracely Wong sought the help of the Philippine National Police Regional Office 5 in Camp Simeon Ola in Albay to increase the security in province.

This is to ensure the safety of the delegates of the Palarong Bicol 2014, which the province is hosting for the second time in a row.

Wong has announced that as of yesterday, the members of the police force have already arrived to lend their assistance.

Earlier, the Department of Education (DepEd) Regional Office V also underscored the importance of the safety of the participants, especially after many parents from mainland Bicol voiced out their worries over a recent gale warning.

Around 6,000 delegates, composed of athletes, coaches, support staff, and officials are expected to arrive in the island province this year from the thirteen divisions of DepEd Bicol.

This year, the Palarong Bicol is scheduled on February 2 to 7.
