CATANDUANES--There is no reported case of measles in the province of Catanduanes, according to Governor Araceli B. Wong. Despite this fact, the provincial government is working hard with the Department of Health (DOH) provincial health team to step up the information campaign regarding measles. This is to avert any case of measles in Catanduanes.

It will be recalled that cases of measles have been noted elsewhere in the Bicol region, particularly in the provinces of Albay, Camarines Sur and Sorsogon.

Meanwhile, Wong noted that the intensified drive against measles coincides with the province's preparations for the Palarong Bicol, which will kick off next month.
