ALBAY: Captain Anthony Figurasin, officer-in-charge of Supply Accountable and Property Division of the Bureau of Fire Protection national office turned over one unit of fully air-conditioned Rosenvauer Fire Truck to Legazpi City Mayor Noel E. Rosal and City Fire Marshall Chief Insp. Damian Rejano Jr. last January 13. The truck is one of the modern vehicles that can be used in firefighting operation of the city fire personnel.

ALBAY: The Office of Civil Defense Regional Office 5 is conducting a five-day DRR-CCA learning exchange here to a delegation consisting of 27 DRR-CCA key partners from the provinces of Compostela Valley and Davao Region in Mindanao until January 25.The delegation is scaling up capacity building with the province of Albay as champion on DRR-CCA.

CAMARINES NORTE: The local government unit of Daet urged the DPWH to fast track the rehabilitation of Mabulao Bridge in the town. The said bridge connects a major and commonly used road. It is now almost a year that nothing certain as to when it will really be completed, Mayor Tito Sarion said. District Engineer Simon Arias said that they are waiting for the release of funds from the 2O14 GAA to complete the project.

CAMARINES NORTE: The Camarines Norte Police Provincial Office has conducted a buy-bust operation in Daet town that resulted to the apprehension of a certain Allan Tablatin, 43 years old. The CNPPO has recovered from the suspect 12 pieces heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing white crystalline substance suspected as shabu, cash, motorcycle, cellphone and other paraphernalia. This is part of their campaign against illegal drugs in the province.

CATANDUANES:  A green sea turtle weighing approximately 5 kilos was turned over to San Andres Mayor Peter Cua last January 7, 2014 and released at the shore of brgy Wagdas, San Andres by uniformed men of PNP and Justiniano Zuniega of brgy Timbaan who had rescued the turtle trapped at the mangrove swamp of barangay Bonot.

CATANDUANES: A team of engineers from the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Regional Office has recommended the removal and replacement of the 44 year-old Virac Public Market building, saying it would be dangerous during strong earthquakes.

SORSOGON: The Civil Service Commission Regional Office - 5 held a briefing-orientation on the 2014 Search for Outstanding Public Officials and Employees under the Philippine Honor Awards Program (HAP) of the CSC last Monday. The search is pursuant to the mandate of the 1987 Philippine Constitution, EO 292 and EO 508 as amended by EO 77 and RA 6713. (PIA5)
