Principal’s Test gets reset to January 14

LIGAO CITY— DepEd has rescheduled the 2013 Principal’s Test to January 12, 2014, according to a memorandum from Ruth Legaspi-Fuentes, Director II of said government agency.

In the memorandum, Legaspi-Fuentes says that the recent calamities that struck the Philippines, such as the killer earthquake in October, and super typhoon Yolanda last month, prompted them to decide on the new schedule.

The Principal’s Test is an examination for aspirants of the Principal I position as well as applicants for the Reclassification of School Heads Positions (RSHP).

It is a mechanism for selecting competent school heads (SHs) in the public basic education sector. Teachers who have experience of at least five (5) years in aggregate as head teacher, teacher-in-charge, master teacher and teacher III are qualified to take the test.

The following performance domains are covered by the examination: school leadership, instructional leadership, creating a learning climate, professional human resource development, parent involvement and building communities, school management and daily operations, personal integrity and interpersonal sensitivity, English language proficiency, and reading comprehension.
Testing centers have been designated in 16 regions. In Bicol, the testing center is Ligao National High School in Ligao City, Albay.

The Department of Education (DepEd) through the National Educators Academy of the Philippines (NEAP) is in charge of administering the Principal’s Test.
